Non-contact Liquid Level Sensors

Overview and Working Principle

A Non-contact Liquid Level Sensor detects the presence or level of a liquid through the wall of non‑metallic containers such as plastic or glass. It uses external capacitive sensing with refined algorithms to monitor water and many aqueous solutions without touching the medium. This through‑wall approach helps avoid contamination and corrosion and reduces mechanical wear. Response is fast, installation is simple, and performance remains stable in continuous use. With in‑house R&D and production, we provide dependable devices and can tailor functions for specific projects.

Key Benefits

  • Fast, reliable, and hygienic detection: External sensing delivers quick, repeatable switching while avoiding probe fouling and reducing maintenance.

  • Clamp-on installation with no process changes: Attach the unit to a pipe or tank without drilling or downtime, supporting retrofits and new builds on most non‑metallic walls.

  • Flexible outputs and controller pairing: Standard digital outputs simplify PLC wiring. Pair with controllers C382, C383, or CY10 for thresholds, multi‑point indication, and alarms.

  • Robust anti‑interference performance: Shielding and algorithms resist noise, condensation, and wall variations to maintain stable detection.

Product Lineup & Selection

  • XKC‑Y25: Versatile clamp‑on sensor for water and aqueous media on plastic or glass.

  • XKC‑Y26S: Fixed‑point detection with sensitive, repeatable switching and easy mounting.

  • XKC‑Y26L: Optimized for thicker walls or difficult positions while keeping stable detection.

  • XKC‑Y27B: Compact form for small tanks or tubes with tight space.

  • XKC‑Y28A: Consistent performance across varied container shapes for level control and alarms.

  • XKC‑Y28B (Water leakage): Targeted leak sensor for early warning of overflow or ingress.

  • XKC‑Y29A (Wall‑mounted): Long‑term adhesion and repeatable sensing on exterior walls.

  • XKC‑Y29D (Card tube): Tailored to narrow or slim‑profile containers.

  • XKC‑Y23A (Small size): Small sensor for compact devices and contamination‑sensitive designs.

  • E700 Portable Liquid Level Detector: Portable tool for onsite verification, installation tuning, and commissioning.

Applications

  • Industrial automation and machinery: Level monitoring, pump control, and interlocks without opening the process.

  • Medical and laboratory equipment: Hygienic monitoring through closed containers to help limit cross‑contamination.

  • Smart appliances and city systems: Overflow prevention, low‑level alerts, and service diagnostics with external sensing.

  • Agriculture and irrigation: External monitoring of reservoirs and nutrients in dusty or humid environments.

  • EV charging cabinets and power enclosures: Leak detection for condensation, coolant, or water ingress to help protect electronics.

Integration & Controllers

  • Outputs and wiring: Sensors provide common digital outputs for PLCs or relays. Use shielded wiring for longer runs, and verify trigger points on the actual wall.

  • Controller pairing (C382, C383, CY10): C382 supports non‑contact automatic control, C383 suits pipeline and tube automation, and CY10 provides multi‑point level display.

  • Installation tips on plastic and glass: Ensure firm attachment without air gaps. Avoid sharp bends or fittings near the sensing point. Calibrate on the target fluid and wall thickness.

Customization & Quality

  • Tailored algorithms: Custom tuning for special liquids, mixed media, or variable walls.

  • Mechanical and electrical options: Custom fixtures and output interfaces to fit your layout.

  • Prototyping to scale: Rapid prototypes and scalable manufacturing for smooth ramp‑up.

  • Experience and reliability: 10+ years of R&D with 30+ patents. Controlled manufacturing and testing focus on stable performance and minimal drift.

When to Use These Sensors

  • Choose through‑wall detection when hygiene matters, to avoid corrosion, or when retrofits must not open the process.

  • Use contact‑type sensors for metallic containers without a non‑metallic window or when immersion measurement is required.

  • Combine non‑contact sensing with multi‑point display, pump sequencing, and fail‑safes for complex systems.

Resources & Support

  • Datasheets and wiring diagrams: Check model‑specific dimensions, outputs, and mounting.

  • Evaluate with E700: Perform non‑invasive level tests to validate model choice and switch points.

  • Technical guidance and after‑sales service: Get application support and discuss your project or request a quote.
