Proper installation and maintenance are key to long-term system reliability. Shenzhen StarCore Technology provides professional guidance for deploying the XKC-LD002 sensor in wash-down environments.
Part 1: Key Installation Points
  1. Sensor Placement:
    • Trigger Point: Mount inside the tunnel entrance to activate only when the animal is fully inside, preventing premature spray.

    • Monitoring Point: Mount mid-tunnel to ensure the animal is in the optimal spray zone.

    • Completion Point: Mount inside the exit to confirm departure and stop the spray cycle.

  2. Mounting Height & Angle:
    • Height: 2.2 - 3 meters above the channel floor to avoid livestock contact while covering the target zone.

    • Angle: Tilt the sensor axis slightly downward, aimed at the livestock's torso height.

  3. Weatherproofing:
    • Although the sensor is highly rated (IP67), adding a small splash guard or eave above it is recommended to deflect direct high-pressure spray.

    • Always use a waterproof junction box for connections.

Part 2: Commissioning & Calibration
  1. Power-On Test: Use the test mode or software to verify the sensor detects a moving target (e.g., a person).

  2. Sensitivity Adjustment: Fine-tune via DIP switches or software based on channel width and animal size to avoid false triggers (birds) or missed detections.

  3. Integration Test: Test the full sequence with sprayers and gates to ensure proper timing.

Part 3: Routine Maintenance
  • Monthly: Visually inspect for heavy dirt buildup. Wipe clean with a soft cloth.

  • Quarterly: Check cable connections and waterproof integrity.

  • Annually: Perform a full functional test.

  • Note: The sensor does not require periodic recalibration. Its core parameters are factory-set for exceptional long-term stability.

Following this guide ensures your StarCore system delivers reliable service for 10+ years.
