Semi-automatic coffee machines generate boiler steam with every extraction, so the inner

wall of the water tank is permanently coated with a layer of condensation plus coffee-oil mist.

After about six months, photoelectric level switches start reporting "tank full" when it is empty,

or "tank empty" when it is full — and the heating block burns out from dry-burning. Float balls

jam even more easily inside narrow tanks, especially when coffee grounds get in.

Xingkechuang's non-contact level sensor works on the capacitive principle: the electrode

sticks to the tank exterior, the wall plus the liquid form a variable capacitor, and the MCU

compares calibrated empty/full values to output a signal. The ΔC contributed by

condensation film, hanging droplets, and oil mist all sit below the trigger threshold — only a

genuine water-level crossing flips the output.

Models such as the XKC-Y29A measure around 20×12×4 mm and can be embedded in a

coffee-machine tank recess, penetrating 1–10 mm non-metallic walls (PP/ABS/AS/glass).
